Veneers

Do you hate the way you look in the mirror? A lot of people are looking for ways to fix their smiles. However, most ways that you can fix yourself take a while. There is a lot of dieting and exercise involved. You might even shave your head if you feel like it - just to have a new sense of style. However, we can offer you something that provides a lasting change to your face. It allows you to have beautiful white teeth, which can take years off your face. We are talking about veneers. If you have never heard of veneers, give Dynamic Dental Care a chance to talk to you about veneers, how they work, and how they can change your entire look.

What Exactly Are Veneers?

While you may not have heard of veneers, they have actually been around for a while. Veneers have the ability to make instant corrections to unpopular smiles. What is interesting is that veneers were originally designed to disguise an actor’s teeth.

Over a century ago, a dentist in Hollywood created veneers in his office to make an actor’s teeth appear ugly and misshapen for a horror movie. The teeth turned out to be very popular, but not for monster movies. The dentist began to have actors coming to his practice who wanted better teeth, because 100 years ago, dental care wasn’t what it is today, and nearly everyone had flaws in their teeth. Actors wanted to cover up their flawed teeth and have picture perfect smiles for their movie debut.

Veneers sound like a miracle, but they are actually a great invention. They are thin shells that fit over your natural teeth. They are fixed in place using dental cement. Veneers can be made of porcelain or composite. However, most people think that veneers made of porcelain are the best veneers to have, because they look like real teeth, and are strong.

What Can Veneers Do?

We love veneers because they can fix a lot of problems with your teeth. Veneers can be used to cover over cracked or broken teeth. This is a great use of veneers, especially when veneers allow you to cover more than one tooth at a time. For example, if you receive a blow to the mouth, and you crack several teeth at once, veneers can cover a multitude of injuries, leaving your teeth pristine.

Veneers can also cover teeth that are poorly spaced. Your teeth may be straight, but not spaced correctly. Veneers can be placed over your teeth to properly space them. We can even use veneers to cover teeth that have been discolored because of an injury, medication or other problems.

How to Care for Veneers

Veneers are amazing inventions, but they can’t be foolproof. Porcelain is strong, but it is not indestructible. There are things that you can do to make sure your veneers are around for a long time. First, you need to be careful when you are chewing foods that are hard or crunchy. If you are an athlete, you need to be sure that you are wearing a mouthguard when you play or practice. You also need to make sure you don’t open things with your mouth, such as bottles. If you are careful with your veneers, they can take care of you for years to come.
